I had just the best of all birthdays over this past Friday, where I turned thirty years old and all of my friends and family were present, on the beach, in Long Beach, to ring in my big three zero. The birthday party supplies were all taken care of for me by my awesome younger brother, who also put together some really smoking hot birthday party favors as well – that he found some really cool birthday party favors gift bags for. Each person got these birthday party favors, which contained several really cool things, like free MP3 downloads, gift cards to local bistros, and online movie rentals for free; not to mention other things like candies and the likeness. Indeed, I have to say that even though I am a fully grown adult, there is just something that I really liked about handing out birthday party favors; they really are not just for kids anymore. Besides, on your birthday, if you ask me, it is okay to feel like a kid again, even if for just a little while!

        For my son's last birthday, I decided to come up with a few new, and fresh Birthday Ideas. I had never thought of doing anything different than the usual family party, but for some reason, this year I decided to spice things up a little bit. I wanted to make his birthday as exciting and fun as mine used to be, many years ago when I was a little boy. From this idea, I decided to ask my parents when they used to do with my birthdays to make them really special for me.
        My mother and father told me that they used to get their Birthday Ideas from friends, or other family members. Sometimes, my dad would even just make something up that very day, and try it out. I was always left satisfied, so I decided to try it out.
        For my son's birthday party, I decided to take him and all of his friends to the zoo to see all the wild animals. They all loved it, and I was so happy that I had tried out a new Birthday Idea!

As long as I can remember, my daughter had a fondness for pigs. Whenever her birthday came around, the birthday theme and party decoration had something to do with pigs. One day when her husband was in a good mood, he told her she could get a little pot belly pig for a pet. What a mistake that was. The tiny little pig's name was Wilbur and while the woman she bought him from, promised he would stay small, that was not the case. Since my daughter worked, Wilbur was kept in the laundry room during the day. Pigs have a habit of rooting. He tore up all of the tile floor and then made a hole in the wall. House breaking was also a hopeless task and his litter box was a child's wading pool because it was the only thing she could think of that was big enough. On the morning of my daughter's 40th birthday she looked out of her window to see a lawn full of pigs. Her friends had gone online and found some birthday party supplies to fill the lawn. About a month ago, my daughter and some of her friends came home with a party decoration idea. As I type this, the American Olympic hockey team is facing Finland in the 15^th day of the games. All signs are pointing to an American win considering we are leading 6-0 at the moment. Now if Canada beats Slovakia in their Semifinal game on tonight the pieces will be set for an outstanding party decorations opportunity. Having a roommate from Canada while the rest of us are born and bred in the states has already created a friendly rivalry. My Canadian roommate is convinced his country’s squad is going to return in the Championships, as a team possessed sending a large message to America who really knows how to play hockey. I’m not so convinced.

With old party decorations we bought online for previous parties it will be easy to transform our place into an Olympic Hockey haven. The Winter Olympics are nearing an end and I can’t think of a better way to say goodbye to Vancouver then with a Championship hockey match and party decorations. An American win will really make for some happy Midwestern hockey fans.

I have a really great birthday idea, and I am super eager to share it with all of you: it involves heading out to Long Beach – where my brother lives – and spending my birthday idea and party on the beach. There we are planning a huge birthday party and I will make sure there are plenty of cameras on hand to take lots of great photos. As part of my birthday idea my brother is also booking a local beach band to play in the background so we can have some hopping music to dance to. I have not done something this crazy for my birthday in years, but seeing as I will be thirty years old at the end of this month I thought that going all out on a birthday idea was something that would truly be in order this time around. I am very anxious already to be on that airplane and on my way over to Long Beach, so my birthday idea beach blast can fully commence. I can’t wait to see the photos afterwards!

This morning I woke up to the sound of rain hitting the window pane and the only thing I wanted to do was pull the covers up over my head and fall back to sleep. I knew though, as wonderful as that sounded, that I had a birthday party to plan this morning, which meant not only finding, but ordering birthday party supplies.

My best friend is turning 40 and a group of us decided to get together and throw her a surprise birthday party. Since I am considered to be the planner and organizer of our group, everyone decided that they would give me a few party decoration ideas, and then I could go online find and order the birthday party supplies. I've been spending a lot of time online looking for party decorations for my aunt's big birthday party. All of our family, and that is a lot of people, are coming to the party as well as her friends. We need a lot of stuff for all of the people that will be attending. I haven't even decided on a birthday theme for the party quite yet. The party is a few months away so I have some time. This year my husband turns the big 5-0 and I have decided to throw him a huge birthday bash. My best friend said that I need a theme for the party, but I still haven't decided yet if I'm going to go that route or not. A birthday theme would be nice, but I can't even begin to imagine what kind of birthday theme I would consider for my husband since he's not really a sports fan or anything else. Yesterday was Fat Tuesday and having a roommate from the South I could not have forgotten about it if I’d wanted to. He cooked up a king cake and I was the one to get the slice with a little red action figure in the middle. I want to know how many people each year in New Orleans choke on the king cake trinket. Like Russian roulette I started scarffing down the tasty cake last night and could have easily swallowed the plastic figurine if it’s legs weren’t sticking out of the slice’s side. Today he started hanging some party decorations. He had a couple masks from experiences on actual Bourbon Street, Saints memorabilia and then standard party decorations we had purchased online.

I’m not sure when this down south celebration ends but he is planning to have some friends over tonight. He told me to have beads ready so that is a good sign. Mardi Gras on the west coast isn’t as insane as the real deal but with spirit and party decorations it is still fun.

I am very eager for the end of this crazy month to arrive, because then I am on my way to Long Beach to have the birthday blast of a lifetime, as I ring in my thirtieth birthday in serious style! My younger brother Douglas lives out there and he called me up asking what birthday theme I had in mind, and I told him I wanted a beach party with all of my friends there. He told me no problem and not to worry about birthday party supplies or any of the other little oddities because he was happy to take care of them all for me. I have a really big birthday coming up at the end of this month, where I will be turning the big 30. That being said, I have been fielding phone calls all over the place from family members and friends asking me what I want for my birthday and what my birthday theme is, or what birthday ideas I have. I have answered all of their questions as such: my birthday idea is to hit the beach in LA – Long Beach to be precise – and have a great sand party with all of my best friends. I was not expecting such a birthday theme to really take such force amongst my loved ones, but as it turns out, quite a few, and most of them actually, are going to be making the trek over to LA to see me. Since many live in the state of Arizona, which is nearby LA, about six hours driving time, it is not that far. And my birthday theme provides them with an ample excuse to enjoy a wonderful weekend getaway to the beach!

I'm planning on throwing a birthday party for my girlfriend who is into healthy eating and decided I'd use the birthday theme of eating sensibly and well. It's going to be a potluck and I've told everyone what the birthday idea is, and suggested that they bring the dish that they cook that tastes the best and is the healthiest, and to bring recipes for it, too, to swap with each other. Everyone seems to like the birthday idea, and I think that we will have a delicious, although unpredictable, meal. The book pictured here, Food Rules, is one I found online a while ago and I've learned a lot about smart eating from it. Lately so much has been uncovered about how important natural food is to the human body and how corporate farming has changed what and the way we eat. Since my friend is big into these topics and reads about them continuously, I thought that it would make a great birthday idea for her party. She doesn't want presents, being past the age where she needs anything, but if someone brings along a cookbook or two to share with her or others, we sure won't mind.

In fact, my friend has a book exchange every spring when they throw their May Day party, so our friends and I are used to swapping books from time to time. I'm known for making delicious bread, so I'll have to learn to make my famous focaccia for this birthday theme with whole wheat flour instead of the white that I've mastered. Wizards and Goblins Make for a Fantastic Birthday Theme

My roommate has a younger brother who is ready and excited to have his 16^th birthday roll around later in the month. Ever since the whole wizardly trend swept literature he has been enthralled in all of the magical world. This leaves a lot of room for awesome birthday themes. From what I have seen online, wizards, goblins and anything conjured from magic spells has a home in many of the party decoration storefronts. These are the kinds of birthday themes I miss.

I haven’t had a themed birthday party for probably a decade. For the past five years, the birthday usually means a night out on the town free of charge thanks to some wide smiling friends. The Super Bowl has come and went and I just realized in a few days marks the start of NBA All-Star Weekend. This is reason for me to celebrate especially since two of the Phoenix Suns, Steve Nash and Amare made the team. The actual All-Star game takes place Sunday night but the dunk contest is on Saturday. All of the action is going down in the Cowboys super stadium, which will look great in high definition for everyone enjoying the show of athleticism in their living rooms.

Our apartment wants to have a few people over for the Saturday dunk contest. We already have the standard party decorations from Super Bowl that will work perfect. It is really easy to keep a supply of party decorations for spur of the moment get togethers with all of the online deals. I used to remember seeing actual party decoration stores around town. For the past year, I haven’t seen any. It is one of the areas, web retailers really took over. That is fine with me with so much more variety and cheap prices from any computer with internet access.

I have a birthday coming up at the early part of next month and everybody keeps asking me what birthday ideas that I have – I keep telling them all the same thing: I want to see the beach! Since I live in Phoenix, and we do not have any beaches here, that is what I plan on doing for my birthday idea this year. Towards the end of this month, the last weekend in February, I am getting in my car with my wife and driving out to Long Beach to stay at my brother’s house; which is but a few miles from the actual beach itself. I think that this is the best birthday idea that I have actually had in quite some time, in all honesty. I know that it will still be too cold to swim, but to just walk along the shores, check out the ocean and see all the sites, not to mention getting some time in with my brother, who I rarely see anymore, is the best birthday idea I can contrive; it will be almost like a little mini vacation just to see my brother on my special day!

My older sister Alex turned the big 35 yesterday and she really had a special day that everybody made great for her. I had a good birthday idea because she didn’t really want a huge party: make some amazing cheeseburgers and have her and some friends over and grill them up on the barbeque outside, and really have a birthday blast! She and my mother loved the birthday idea that I had and they all arrived at around eight at night. I had everything ready and my birthday idea went off without a hitch. I had shopped online with my mom the week prior and was able to save so much money on gifts that I got Alex five different presents – and she loved them all! I made individual cakes and had her blow out a big candle in them middle of the table – a birthday idea to really change things up – while we all sang her song to her. I have never seen my sister smile that much in years, she has had a rough time and thanks to that special day she was one happy birthday camper!

What is a great birthday idea for a family member or friend who likes to read? Why, a book that suits their interests. I use this birthday idea when shopping for a birthday gift for my mother. In fact, I ask her a couple of weeks before her birthday if there is any new release novel she has been wanting to read. She normally has at least one or more recently released titles I can choose from. My family has used this birthday idea gift for as long as I can remember. I suppose we do so because we are all avid reader's. When my daughters were home and growing up I used this same birthday idea as a birthday theme to encourage each of them to learn to love reading and all the benefits that come from being a well read person. Fortunately, both of my girls grew up to love reading and they now use this same birthday idea with their children. Personally I have several favorite authors who write the type of novels I enjoy reading and I feel a sense of anticipation when I know their latest novel is due out. One such novelist is Dale Brown. I recently finished reading his latest book and already anticipating his next release. The novel of his I finished last week was a birthday idea gift from my mom and she now has the book as she is also a fan of his. When mom ask me if her birthday idea of a novel was ok for my birthday this year I said of course. because she is not a very computer oriented person she ask that I go ahead and go online and buy the novel I wanted and she would pay for it. The novel by Dale Brown I bought is The Lost Symbol.
As you can see on the cover Dale Brown is also the author of the hit best seller The Da Vinci Code, a novel of his I also have read. I found his latest novel on the Shop On Mine web site located online at http://www.shoponmine.com/. The Da Vinci Code was such a best seller the book has been made into a movie starring Tom Hanks. His latest novel is centered in Washington, DC and how the Free Masons influenced the founding of America. Historically speaking this novel by Dale Brown is a lot more accurate that his previous best seller and makes for a good read. I had a hard time putting it down but when I find a book I am really enjoying I try not to read it all at once. Kind of like the way a person who enjoys a great wine will savor the wine to lengthen the experience.

Gardening Makes a Great Birthday Theme for My Green Thumb Sister

My sister's birthday is coming up and I just came upon a great birthday theme for her party. It's a milestone birthday and I don't exactly want to play that up, but what I would like to do is use a birthday theme that appeals to what she likes, and got to thinking that she loves gardening, so why not use a birthday theme that capitalizes on that. I could go to the plant nursery and get a bunch of flower and vegetable seedlings and order some flower bouquets online and put together a fun birthday party centered around gardening.

It could be a really pretty birthday theme to put together. First, flower and vegetable plants almost all look and smell good and I could get some shallow cardboard boxes and decorate them with some kind of wrapping paper, line them with kitchen plastic wrap, and put the six packs of seedlings in for a centerpiece on the table. It's so easy to order flowers online and a couple of bouquets would probably be all I'd need to brighten the rooms up. One of her favorite flowers is sunflowers and they are pretty much an all season flower so I could probably order them as the birthday theme's centerpiece. We could also use seed packets as part of the birthday theme. If my sister didn't want to plant them, she could let her guests take them home to put them in their own gardens. With a mid February birthday, this birthday theme would give her a leg up on getting her spring garden in (we live in Phoenix). Her yard is gorgeous and she has a big plot for fruits and vegetables, so I think that this birthday decoration idea could be a fun one to pull off.

I got the idea for the gardening birthday theme when I was looking for gift cards for her present. It made me think of gardening and my sister, and bingo, the birthday theme solidified in my mind. Now all I have to do is think of all the fun food to prepare using the gardening theme. Maybe I should look online for flower shaped cookie cutters and invite her kids to come over and decorate cookies and a cake with me for their mom's next birthday celebration. This is going to be a fun party to prepare for and the whole family could take part in the preparation.
