Men are known for not maturing very fast. But for every rule there is an exception. I have a friend who is a shining example of the exemption to this rule. Ever since high school he looked like he could, in the right clothing, double as a dad. It is not only his big, hairy features but his attitude. He is a forward thinking guy. When we were all partying in college, he was carefully planning his career moves after graduation. He is now married but still the same guy I liked to hang out with back in the day.
His birthday is in April so for whatever reason I started to think of birthday themes for him. Probably because he had recently called. What are some good birthday ideas for a young man going on 60? Then it hit me. Imagine a party where everyone wore blazers, sport jackets and sweaters, smoked on wooden pipes and sipped scotch or whiskey on the rocks. This would really be funny. Classy old man birthday themes seems like something worth putting together come spring. I know he would love the idea too.
