There was a solid four years where I was obsessed with playing Texas Hold’em. Over the years I’m not sure what my win/lose ratio is but I do remember the tournaments I came out on top. That is the way it always is when gambling. No one remembers losing just the big wins. My neighbor and semi-friend is having his birthday this weekend. Normally when either of us have a party or walk over to a local bar we knock on each other’s door for an invite.
The door bell rang yesterday and there he was, letting me know about his poker birthday idea. I never knew he even liked cards. I’m in for sure. Poker makes for a great birthday theme. He may think the luck of being the birthday boy is going to make the competition come out soft but I play to win. It will be weird if I come out the tournament champion. He will have standard party decorations. I have some left over birthday party supplies bought online for a roommate’s bash a few months back I’m going to bring over along with some clay chips.
