birthday ideas, birthday party favors

I have four kids, so being full of birthday ideas is a requirement in my home. If I couldn't come up with new birthday themes four times each year, we'd have three Star Wars parties and one Barbie party.
Here are just a couple of the birthday ideas I've come up with over the past ten years:

1. A Football Party - This is the most recent party I've planned. My son turned ten in August, and he wanted to have a sleepover. We had all of the boys bring their sleeping bags and pillows. We rented a kid oriented football movie, and we made a bunch of popcorn. We had birthday cake in the shape of a football. We had goody bags with football team sticker tattoos and spongy footballs in them. The birthday party favors were bottles of Dr. Pepper in the shape of a football. The boys had a blast!

2. My middle son was turning two, and I didn't have a ton of time to plan his party. I usually try to make a themed cake. With his party, the cake became the theme. I made a couple dozen cupcakes and placed them on the table in the shape of a caterpillar. I inserted two of the squiggly candles as the antennae. We had a "Buggy Boy" birthday party! He loved it!
