party decorations

Each year our family rotates the home where we'll have Christmas dinner. Last year it was at my sister home, and this year it's our turn. I'll be the first one to admit that while I do love having Christmas dinner at our home I always find it difficult to find the right party decorations for the occasion. My sister and mom both have Christmas dishes that they pull out each year, even though there isn't enough to go around for everyone. I also have some, but I prefer to use paper when it comes to dinner, and I always try to find party decorations that will match. My family always laughs at me, because I tend to also buy party decorations which match the theme of my Christmas tree for that particular year. If my tree is decorated in gold, then I try to buy party decorations which use gold. This year, my tree is going to be decorated in red and gold, so my decorations should include red and gold. Can you imagine having and red and gold theme, but have silver party decorations? I cringe at the thought of that decorating no-no.

I know, some people think that it's just party decorations, and the plates are just going to be tossed in the garbage once everyone is finished eating, and that is true, but I can't help wanting everything to look pulled together and as festive as possible, which is why I think the right decorations are important. This year I was able to find the perfect party decorations from the same place I ordered from last year. Even though we didn't have the family Christmas dinner at our house last year, I always use party decorations to keep the theme pulled together because we always have people stopping in during the holidays and I always have cakes, cookies and candies made and ready to share with anyone who stops in.

This morning I ordered Christmas Tree 12" Plate that I found from Shop On Mine who has a great selection of party decorations at www.shoponmine.com. Based on my previous experiences with ordering decorations from them, I know I'll hang them quickly. I also ordered the matching napkins and the smaller plates as well, so that we can have something to serve dessert on. Now that I have that out of the way, I can start planning my Christmas dinner menu.
