However I wouldn’t much like to have to think of birthday ideas for an adolescent boy because for me they are a bizarre species of human with smelly armpits, a penchant for rock music and a bit of an attitude. I can only really think of two or three birthday ideas for adolescent boys based what I remember from my teaching days.
I think that music birthday themes can work for teenage boys. If I remember correctly boys of that age are either into rock or rap. If you have a son then you probably know which genre of music he favors because teens seem to have this thing about turning up the volume as high as it will go. Birthday party favors for a music themed birthday party could be the latest CD by the most renowned artist from his favorite genre.
I’ve noticed that many teenage boys are crazy about a certain sport such as baseball, basketball, football or soccer and if this is the case then birthday ideas could center on their passion. Fortunately it is easy to have cake made in the shape of a baseball or football and find appropriate sports themed party decorations.
Teenage boys who aren’t into sports are often fans of gaming. In fact if there is one thing that boys of all ages seem to have in common it is a love of seventh generation gaming consoles. My step-grandsons love gaming and so do all the boys who live in our neighborhood. I have a few birthday ideas for a gaming themed party. The guests could dress up as their favorite video game character. If the parents of the birthday boy also bought a couple of the hottest new games then the party would probably be a success.
