party decorations

Now that Christmas is upon us and I've got all the party decorations set up for our Christmas feast, I've got to start thinking about party decorations for my mom and dad’s 50th wedding anniversary. My sister and I have been planning to give them a party for a while, but the planning of the food and party decorations is my thing. Granted, I am usually the one who comes up with the ideas, but before I make any finalized decisions, I'll ask her opinion about the menu planning, and also about the party decorations to make sure that she's on board with my ideas. More often than not she is happy with anything that I come up with, but there is the occasion when she has another idea about the decorations, such as when I was planning her daughters 16th birthday. She wanted a few things added to reflect the theme, which turned out better in the end.

Before I choose the party decorations for the anniversary bash, we first need to be sure where we are going to have it. I think there's a huge difference in the type of party decorations that I'll use if we have it at my sister’s home, as opposed to having it at a local community center. Personally, based on the preliminary guest list that we have, I think it would make things much easier on my sister and me if we have it at the community center. That way we can set up the party decorations a few days before, plus we have a place to store all the food and warm anything that needs to be warmed, and don't have to worry about having so many people in our homes. That's definitely something that I'll find the time to discuss with my sister sometime during Christmas dinner, or at least while we are all together for Christmas.

At the moment, I have in my head that the party decorations should be silver and white, but I really would like to add a touch of color in there somewhere. I happen to love color and while I know that most 50th anniversary party decorations will be silver and white, I feel sure that I can add a splash of color somewhere. Since it's going to be closer to Valentine's Day when we have the party, I think red would go well.

I know I will be getting these Champagne Glass Bubble Bottles for sure. As soon as we make a decision on where, I'm going to start looking for all the other party decorations at Shop On Mine whose online store can be found by visiting www.shoponmine.com/. That way I'll have all my ducks in a row long before the party rolls around.
