Now that my children are getting a bit older, they don't want birthday themes that are childish. They still like the idea of a theme, but a more grown-up teenage kind of birthday theme. My daughter had a Hawaiian luau theme last year and she thought it was so great! We had the lei's and grass skirts, pineapple and palm tree birthday party decorations, and Hawaiian theme cake. Then I have sons who are teenagers, and one is into skateboarding so I've done a skateboarding birthday theme for him in the past. I got those little finger skateboards as birthday party favors, and made a cake in the shape of a skateboard. I can come up with some really cool birthday themes for the older kids, and have so much fun doing it. Shopping online is a great way to find some great birthday themes for "kids" of all ages. I am happy to not have to use my gas money and fight crowds in stores. I also save time because it takes no time at all to shop online.
