Birthday Themes
Birthdays are wonderful and special and birthday themes are a great way to celebrate. There are many milestone birthdays but a little grandchild turning 6 is a milestone as well. One of my favorite memories is taking my granddaughter to see a local musical version of Alice in Wonderland. She loved it and asked if she could be like Alice. Her birthday was coming up and in the spirit of birthday themes we thought it would be great if we gave her what she wanted.
On her special day, we had several people dressed up as characters from Alice in Wonderland. We presented her as Alice. She did not get the traditional sitting around the table and opening presents type birthday. No, we had different characters bring her a gift in a little “adventure”. The party lasted several hours so that all the children could enjoy the magic of feeling they were in the middle of Alice in Wonderland. My granddaughter had so much fun.
Apparently so did a lot of the children as over the next few months we got phone calls to help with suggestions and ideas for birthday themes. Going online, I was able to help many of these parents out and over the next couple of years the birthday themes were all creative and loved by her and her many friends.
